Research Backed Treatment For Dry AMD

A growing body of clinical research has demonstrated meaningful benefits of light-based therapies for people with dry age-related macular degeneration (Dry AMD). Studies including the LIGHTSITE III trial have explored how targeted light treatment can support retinal health and visual outcomes.

While Dry AMD currently has no cure, emerging evidence suggests that light therapy offers a promising strategy to support retinal health, potentially stabilise vision and slow disease progression. Ongoing clinical trials continue to refine our understanding of how best to use this technology.

Key Findings from Clinical Studies

Improved Visual Acuity
Many patients treated with light therapy experienced measurable improvements in vision. These gains may help preserve independence and quality of life for those with early and intermediate Dry AMD.
Slowed Disease Progression
Research shows that light therapy can help delay the worsening of Dry AMD. By supporting retinal cell function and reducing harmful stressors, treatment may slow the rate of vision loss.
Enhanced Retinal Function
Light-based treatment supports healthier retinal cells by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, which are key contributors to retinal degeneration. This can help maintain retinal function over time.
